I'm a "Soccer MOM"!!

We gave Isaac the choice...T-ball or Soccer??  It was an immediate answer:  Soccer!  I'm not sure if its because he was just at his first Seattle Sounders game back in August, or just because he loves to the kick.....but he was SURE about this choice!!!

 

After we signed him up through the YMCA (which then goes through Venice Area Youth Soccer), we took our first trip to Sports Authority!  Boy did he love that!  (Especially the putting green and the boxing areas.  HA!)  We got his gear and he came home right away to try it all on.  He didn't want to take those shin-gaurds off at all....not even to eat!

 There are 6 kids on his team.  One girl, five boys.  One 6 year old, five 4 year olds!

First game!  I know you can't see anything....but this is only a half field and I wanted you to see how little they really are!  The games are 40 minutes, and they play 3 on 3, subbing every 5 to 10 minutes or so.  (Remember...its still very hot here!  So the water breaks are good!)

It took Isaac a little bit before he decided he COULD get in there and start to fight for that ball!  Once he did......he scored 3 times!  He was so happy, and had so much fun.  Even though the team lost their first game, they couldn't have cared less!  All of the kids are great, adorable, try hard, and the parents are a ton of fun, too!  The next 9 weeks will be a blast, I'm sure.
