Living it up when we have the time.

Labor Day weekend was wonderful! We had 3 days in row together as a family, which hasn't happened in 5 months. We fit a bunch of fun activities in while Dan was home and we tried to make the most of the time we had. Saturday we discovered a park - and silly us - its only 10 minutes from our house. Isaac had a blast playing on all the huge toys with his papa.

"Hey Papa! Isaac is in your sunglasses!"

There is a 10.2 mile trail, and although it was REALLY hot, we thought we'd see where it led. If only we could all travel this way.
When the weather cools off we are deteremined to load the bikes up and ride this trail. What a find! I had no idea it was there...

Mallory joined our Labor Day Monday so Dan and I took both the kids on a nature walk in our own community. We rode our bikes to the trail and went in search for "elephants, lions, tigers, hippos, and zebras". We did collect many great pine-cones for craft projects, though.

Too cute not to post. They each have a baby doll and decided to try to put them down for naps by laying with them. They are such snuggly little kids, and LOVE to snuggle each other.
This past weekend Isaac and I went to the beach with my mom. I'm brave enough to let him go fill up his buckets alone, now. (He's been brave enough since he was 1)

After the beach we went to a little place where Isaac tried his first grilled cheese sandwhich.
Dan was home Sunday so we went to the pool for a little cool-down.
And after all that sun? Quite a tan line for using 50+ sunblock every time, religiously!

Dan and I love to eat chicken ceaser salads. So does Isaac! You'll notice that his plate (the Incredible Hulk) is completely empty. He took the whole salad bowl and finished it all!

I had to get all of this posted because in 2 more days Brett is coming! I'm sure we'll have a bunch to post (if Brett lets us take his picture) as it will be great fun to have him here, and the first time Brett and Isaac will meet. Looking forward to it!

  1. Brett is really excited about his trip down there. And I know he's going to have so much fun with Isaac. Little kids love him for some reason. :) Can't wait to see the pictures.

I cannot believe he ate all of that salad! His dad was a good vegie eater, and caeser salad is one of Uncle Jeff's favorites!
Have a wonderful time with Brett. Tell him to come see us WITH PICTURES when he gets back. : )
I love the munchkins napping together. You are a fantastic photographer, Emily.
